Prospect Road Improvements

In 2025, inVISION Studios was contracted to produce a video simulation representing proposed improvements to Prospect Road in Peoria, IL. The visualization was developed to illustrate the proposed road diet and its benefits, including improved pedestrian safety and accessibility and reduced traffic volumes, for public presentations and project outreach.

Our goal was to accurately depict the proposed roadway design, pavement markings, signage, landscaping, and traffic conditions while providing enough surrounding context to make the visualization feel representative of the existing corridor. As with every inVISION Studios production, we incorporated as much adjacent site detail, architecture, and vegetation as possible within the project’s schedule and budget to provide relevant context for viewers.

Production began with the development of an accurate digital model of the proposed roadway using client-provided design files. To effectively communicate the corridor’s planned beautification, we worked with the project’s landscape designer to select grass and tree models that represented the anticipated appearance of the landscaping after 10-15 years of growth.

Because VISSIM data was not provided, traffic animation was developed using estimated future traffic counts and existing traffic conditions. Pedestrian accessibility was a key focus of the proposed improvements, so the simulation incorporated a variety of users, including pedestrians, bicyclists, and people walking leashed pets.

The final five-minute driver’s-perspective video provided an accurate and realistic representation of the proposed corridor improvements, highlighting key intersections, pedestrian accommodations, and landscaping. The visualization provided a clear way to communicate the project’s proposed changes and their impact on the corridor during public presentations.
